A Beautiful Feeling + New Bern: Spirit of Freedom
For nearly thirty years, the all-volunteer team behind the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance has presented a festival for each season of the year. The organization now faces multiple challenges, but they remain committed to their vision of an authentic, independent festival. “A Beautiful Feeling” is a documentary feature that follows the volunteers and musicians who make the GrassRoots Festival a musical treasure.
Opening the screening is “New Bern: Spirit of Freedom,” a documentary that reveals how the Black community of New Bern, North Carolina, influenced the Emancipation Proclamation.
Both films are directed by Mike O’Connell.
